What is Glaucoma and what causes it ?

Glaucoma is a group of eye diseases that cause damage to the optic nerve, which is responsible for transmitting visual information from the eye to the brain. This damage can lead to vision loss and, in severe cases, blindness. The main cause of glaucoma is an increase in intraocular pressure (IOP), which is the pressure inside the eye. Factors that can increase the risk of developing glaucoma include age, family history of glaucoma, high myopia , diabetes , and long-term use of corticosteroids.
