Explain Refractive lens exchange (RLE)

Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE), also known as Lens Replacement Surgery or Clear Lens Exchange, is a surgical procedure that involves removing the natural lens of the eye and replacing it with an artificial intraocular lens (IOL) to correct refractive errors and improve vision. RLE is similar to cataract surgery, but the primary goal of RLE is to correct refractive errors rather than treating a cataract. It may be a better option than Presbyopic LASIK in older individuals and patients with dysfunctional lens syndrome, high myopia or high hyperopia or any corneal disease that may preclude Laser vision Correction.
